Best Apple Tweaks and Apps

Post by FreeSocrates! »

After alot of messing about, I finally decided to just go with the devil I know and buy an iMac (been working on Apple Computers since I was 7) since I needed a workstation and am tired of the "mobile lifestyle".

I don't particularly like iOS or their mobile products but after trying different versions of Windows and Linux, knew it was the best choice for a Desktop OS due to already knowing the OS very well and really liked some Linux Distros but all the software I thought kinda sucked.

Anyways, since I'm excited to have such a big screen I'm looking to setup my spaces so that I can have one app on each side. Anyone know a good app for this?

And here is a list of stuff I know that is good, because I've used it all for a long time:

AppZapper - removes all the files that have to do with an application, cleaner than just uninstalling apps
Coconut Battery - for my laptop tells you what condition the battery is in
iPartition - for partitioning HDs
iStumbler - for seeing more advanced information about WIFI networks
Mactracker - to view specs on every apple device ever made
namebench - tests the power of your computer
OnyX - a utility to cleanup and repair your mac

Coda - I like the interface to use for FTP
Sublime Text 2 - the best code editor ever...
Billings - great if your a freelance billing clients
CrashPlan - internet backup service

MAMP - installs a local server on your Macbook
MxPlayer - like VLC but I think I like it better
WriteRoom - distraction free writing mode

These apps I seem to always need at some point, any that you can turn me onto? Do you know a good app that does split screen well (like Windows Snap to or whatever it is)?

iStumbler - is that to help you get home when you've had a few too many?
