Woman Publicly Accuses Phnom Penh Police Colonel of Violence

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A police officer known as Colonel Pen Nuth, Chief of Security of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Inspectorate, was accused of using physical violence, insults, and harassment by a woman on Facebook.

On the morning of July 13, 2023, a Facebook account named (Prak Nop Takeo) posted that she had been beaten up by Colonel Pen Nuth, and she posted photos of her bruised body to back her allegations. This information was investigated by Nokorwat News, who have learnt that the woman who is suffering from violence is currently at the Kambol District Police Inspectorate, so she can file a legal complaint.

A police officer in Kampoul district office, who is also the head of Colonel Pen Nuth, the security chief of the Phnom Penh police inspectorate, said that he had a lot going on, but the problem has been reported. However, on the morning of July 13, 2023,
there was still no reply to the Nokorwat request for comment by Brigadier General San Sok Seiha, Assistant and Spokesman of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police.
