Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Car of Missing German Businessman Found in Pattaya
Pattaya police were called to inspect a car believed to be that of a missing German businessman, Mr. Hans Peter Mack, on Sunday, July 9th. His wife and family are offering a three-million-baht reward for finding him alive and a 100,000-baht reward for finding his vehicle.

The car, a bronze/gray Mercedes-Benz, was found parked at a parking area of the CC Condo on Soi Khao Noi within the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Case of the missing German took a sinister turn on Sunday morning with a senior Thai police officer confirming that someone had used a cleaning agent to wipe away fingerprints throughout the interior of the vehicle and even on the outside. This suggests that a serious crime has been committed, raising fears for the German man’s fate.

There are real fears for the safety and well-being of a German property tycoon who disappeared on Tuesday, July 4th last in the Bang Lamung area of Pattaya after a meeting with a fellow German national to discuss potential property deals. On Sunday, his luxury Mercedes Benz E350 coupé was found in the car park of a condominium complex with police discovering evidence that whoever parked it there had attempted to conceal their fingerprints. It has also emerged that police have spoken to a key witness who saw two young women park the vehicle on Wednesday, July 5th last, sometime in the afternoon.

Mr. Mack’s body was found in a large freezer in a rental home in the Chokchai Garden Home 1 Village in Pattaya which police targeted following reviewing leads they had been investigating throughout the last 24 hours and CCTV that showed the freezer being transported in a black pickup truck by what appeared to be foreign nationals.
Mr. Mack’s body had been cut into multiple pieces, according to forensic technicians, placed in black garbage bags, and stored in a freezer at the rental room.

That's a big warning to some network, knowing the evidence will be found rather than trying to dispose of the body.
Gruesome.

Gruesome.
Hanging a dismembered body from an overpass like the Mexican cartel would be a message. This was more of a half arsed "Mistress Choppy" affair.

UPDATE: 11 July 2023
For the moment, the only certainty in this case is that the victim was German, and the prime suspects are also German. It is suggested in some press outlets that this was a kidnapping/extortion gone wrong, but the victim apparently knew the suspects, which is generally not the case in this kind of operation. ( How can you release a victim who can positively identify you as a kidnapper ?)
It also seems that the German suspects in this case bought a large deep freeze before the victim went missing.

From:https://www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture ... body-found
The home where the remains were discovered, was reportedly rented by a German friend of the victim who had been living in the residence for three months with a disabled German woman.

According to Pattaya News, the businessman's body had been cut into multiple pieces and dumped in black garbage bags. Authorities made the discovery after surveillance video captured the same freezer loaded in the back of a black pick-up truck and transported to a rented home by foreign nationals identified as Germans.

The victim's German friend, identified as Oraf(sic), was arrested alongside a woman, identified as Petra, in connection to the death. According to Bangkok Post, the arrest was made after a Thai couple told police that a disabled German woman had hired them to deliver the freezer to House No. 59/49 in Nong Prue.

While police have made a couple of arrests in the case, they suspect multiple perpetrators were involved in the incident. The suspects in custody have reportedly declined to speak without the presence of a lawyer.

Cleaned up this topic. Please show some decorum on death topics where family and friends are likely to view. Thanks.

Hats off to Pattaya's fines: solved this one in record time>
Three ruthless gang members have been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of Hans Peter Ralter Mack, a 62-year-old German businessman whose body was dismembered and stuffed into a freezer.

Pol. Col. Tawee Kutthalaeng, the Superintendent of Nongprue Police Station, disclosed that during the investigation, three individuals were identified as suspects: Mr. Olaf Thorsten Brinkmann, a German national, Mrs. Petra Christl Grundgreif, also a German national, and Mr. Shahrukh Karim Uddin, a 27-year-old Thai national of Pakistani descent.

The suspects are accused of conspiring to commit robbery and intentionally killing another person. Furthermore, there have been discussions regarding business negotiations concerning the sale of land near the boxing camp in Chak Ngaeo, Huay Yai sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province, which belonged to the deceased. The person in charge of overseeing the matter was summoned for questioning, but their involvement in the specific case is still unclear.
