Cambodia News, (Prey Veng): According to the Prey Veng Provincial Police, a man returned from a drinking party and was scolded by his wife, until a fight broke out and he grabbed a cleaver to attack her. At 21:00 on July 9, 2023 in Krouch village, Prey Veng province, the attacker hacked at both his wife and child, leaving them with serious wounds.

The suspect is Touch Chan, male, 38 years old, living in Krouch Village, Kdeung Reay Commune, Kanhchriech District, Prey Veng Province. The man's wife, Phal Seang Ra, female, 39 years old, was cut on her hand and arm, but also several deep gashes to her face close to her eye and ear; their 15-year-old daughter received to cuts to her right leg.


At the time of the incident, the suspect came from drinking at his friend's house. The man was falling over drunk, and his wife was pushing him around and calling him names, and that made him mad, so he went to the kitchen, picked up the meat cleaver, and hacked at his wife and daughter, wounding them both.

After that, the man escaped to the house of his friend Mao, a 34-year-old man in nearby Tanal village, and he was arrested there by Prey Veng provincial police.
