WTF Cambodian Celeb Birthday Party for Little Girl

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. WTF Cambodian Celeb Birthday Party for Little Girl

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Do you get everything that you ever dreamed of, when your parents are rich and famous, and you are having a 5-year-old birthday party?

No, you get your parents showing off in a night club with a heap of old people who are all pretending to be the same age as you !

Typical Khmer kid’s birthday party. Party is pretty much for the glorification of the adults, the poor kid gets nothing meaningful out of it.

Been to the village version. It was all an excuse for the adults to party. I felt sorry for the kid.

Just my opinion, of course.

Living in the village here, birthday parties are the same as we 'd have in Europe : kids have fun first, then come the gifts and cake, and the party really starts after that with music, dance (and alcohol for adults, family and friends, of course). Kids always enjoy it !

The face of the kid in the picture tells an other story...
Driving on Cambodian roads is just like playing a classic arcade top scroller. The only difference is a force feedback controller, the limitation to only one life and the inability to restart, once Game Over

BUT looking at the kids pic, she doesn't seem like she is having the best of times LOL
B parties for all kids till they hit 4-5 are always about the parents
