There's some rich Thais

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

There's some rich Thais

The combined net worths of Thailand's top 10 billionaires account for around 25% of the nation's GDP, which is US$495 billion in 2022.

Not one is military, ( guess their wealth is not reported :-) )

Unsurprisingly, all ten are Chinese ethnicity.
I note that the King is not on the list.
His wealth is estimated at $30bn - $70bn.

I think a huge percentage of Thais are of Chinese ethnicity.

11 to 14 percent of Thais are ethnically Chinese.

You didn't really answer the deliberately, racially-charged question. Perhaps you don't want to.

What percentage do the Chinese -Thai control?

Let's play your game in the US:

How much of the economy is controlled by various religious groups?

I bet you don't answer.

Yup. It's about rich Thais. I noted that the top ten are ethnically Chinese and that I was unsurprised. Equally in pre Pol Pot Cambodia, 90% of the economic activity was in the hands of the small Chinese minority. The top Oknhas are all Chinese today. Most traders and landlords I deal with personally are Chinese or part Chinese. Why? They get up early, work hard, bargain hard and take care of family business. Consistently!

Schlarry, you didn't even ask a question. You simply wrote an eroneous statement.
"I think a huge percentage of Thais are of Chinese ethnicity."
Then you go off on a US religious tangent.
But I'll humour you. The Catholic church is the biggest landowner in the US. Ethnically Indian families top the household income list. I'm guessing they're mostly Hindu.
Time for a herbal cigarette. You've brought my 4:20 threshold forward. I thank you for that.
