Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): On the night of July 5, 2023, a Cambodian construction worker fell from the 5th floor, causing his sudden death while he was working on Street 141 in Sangkat Veal Vong, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh. The construction company management allege that the accident was due to negligence and a technical error on the part of the worker,.

The deceased was named Pursit, male, 21 years old, born in Svay Rieng district, Svay Rieng province.

According to the description of a man who worked with the victim, the young man was seen working as usual, when he lost his balance and fell suddenly from the top of the building to the bottom; he died immediately on impact.

According to the 7 Makara district police officer, the victim fell from the building because the he was not wearing the proper safety equipment of a belt, harness, and helmet, and this sort of negligence can lead to a life-threatening accident. It has also been said that the police were not informed of the fatal accident by the owner of the building until the following day.

[Enough said, the police appear to have concurred with the building site management that the deceased worker was at fault because he did not take appropriate safety precautions while working.]

So they just kept his body on site for a whole day? I'm surprised the government hasn't required a new pencil pusher job to be created, such as a wild occupation known as a safety coordinator, possibly station him at the front gate
