Cambodia News, (Siem Reap Province): On the morning of 2 July, 2023, heavy rain mixed with gusts of wind caused a large old tree to fall down, hitting some power lines, and blocking the entire road, causing traffic jams in Siem Reap city.

According to the report, the massive tree fell on a power line at 7:30am in Trapeang Ses village, Sangkat Kork Chak, Siem Reap city, cutting off all electricity to the area. The police called on the EDC to assist the administrative team of Sangkat Kork Chak, to cut up the tree, and clear the road for vehicles to pass.

The Siem Reap Municipal Authority said that it was a difficult job, and it was not until 5:30 pm on the same day that EDC Siem Reap Province removed the fallen tree. Later that evening, people could drive on the road with caution, and this morning all debris was removed from the site and it is completely secure.
