Beggars and Homeless Rounded Up in Siem Reap
Twelve homeless people and beggars sent to temporary shelter for education at the Social Welfare Center
Jun 25, 2023
Cambodia News, ( Siem Reap): On 3 June, 2023, twelve homeless people and beggars were sent by the provincial police to the Social Welfare Center in Siem Reap.
The Siem Reap Provincial Administration would like to make it known that these measures have been taken following complaints by the public about homeless people and beggars causing trouble to public order, especially in tourist areas.
As a result, the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, on the evening of June 23, 2023, sent the Provincial Police Commission and the law enforcement forces to collect homeless people and beggars from the streets in Siem Reap and sent them for education: 12 people, 7 adults and 5 children, were detained by the city police officers. One disabled person with one leg was sent to stay temporarily at the Social Welfare Center./V-PC

Re: Beggars and Homeless Rounded Up in Siem Reap
Great idea. When I lived in NZ a few years back homeless beggars on the street were a real nuisance but apparently their human rights meant they could sleep in shop doorways, shit and piss and take drugs in public parks, and hassle pedestrians for change and the cops could do f all about it. Good to see the authorities taking control here and "educating" them.

Of course they don't. I read reports from tourists recently that said they were getting followed around by beggars, and tuk tuk drivers.jaynewcastle wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 8:17 pm I guess the authorities don't want anything to put the tourists off coming
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Maybe, if they had some education they wouldn't be homeless.

living on the streets in front of buildings where condos go for $1,000,000++
I can understand the homeless, but they seem to feel they can do whatever the fuck they want, wherever they want
education has little to do with it, circumstances for many has made them live this life, an for many, its a choice
