Criminal Case On Prighozin Dropped; Wagner Chief To Go To Belarus
Heavy infighting ensued in Russia after mercenary group Wagner's chief Yevgeny Prigozhin accused Moscow's troops of attacking his fighters in Ukraine. In the wake of this, Russian officials have ramped up security and instated "anti-terrorist" measures in the capital.

The head of the private Russian military company Wagner will move to neighboring Belarus as part of deal to defuse rebellion tensions and the criminal case against him will be closed, the Kremlin said Saturday.
Yevgeny Prigozhin’s troops who joined him in the uprising will not face prosecution and those who did not will be offered contracts by the Defense Ministry, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Big mistake to underestimate your enemy.
Prigozhin's days are numbered, and if he thinks Belarus is a safe refuge...
'We came within 200km of Moscow'. Reminds me of the Germans in WW2, within 10-20km and they still couldn't take it, and lost around 400,000 men in the process.

Re: Possible, attempted coup in Russia??
he has lead quite a life
1981: Caught stealing in his early 20s -> 9 years in jail
1990: Sold hot dogs in a flea market
1995: Entered restaurant business
2001: Personally served food to Putin
2012: Supplied meals to Russian military for $1.2B a year. Owned a private jet and a 115-foot yacht.
2014: Started Wagner Group, a private military org
2022: Admits role in US election interference and participated in Ukraine invasion
2023: Mutiny and was on his way to Moscow
This official statement from Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner group and the leader of this coup, says it all. I don't think anyone expected this:
"They were going to dismantle PMC Wagner. We came out on 23 June to the March of Justice. In a day, we walked to nearly 200km away from Moscow. In this time, we did not spill a single drop of blood of our fighters. Now, the moment has come when blood may spill. That’s why, understanding the responsibility for spilling Russian blood on one of the sides, we are turning back our convoys and going back to field camps according to the plan."
The President of Belarus, Lukashenko, has been in talks with Prigozhin all day and has taken credit for the peace agreement.
Prigozhin accepted the terms of Lukashenko’s agreement and agreed to halt the movement of his forces and return back to his bases.
The agreement also guarantees security for fighters of PMC Wagner.
It seems that the attempted coup has come to an end, and Prigozhin, along with his men, will return to their bases.
Reports of Wagner forces not only leaving Moscow Oblas, but also leaving Rostov.
Russian media reports that criminal cases have already been dropped from Yevgeny Prigozhin and that Prigozhin and his forces will receive FULL IMMUNITY
Restrictions on the movement of vehicles have been lifted from the Voronezh region which saw clashes earlier during the coup.

I posted the Twitter link on the last page. I guess most people didn't open it.
This tweet suggests that it was all staged.

"NAFO briefly worshipped the man who took their beloved Bakhmut from them?"
What is that supposed to mean?

Re: Possible, attempted coup in Russia??
IMHO the situation shows how deeply dependent Russia has become from the Wagner troops for the moment. No way that anybody could openly rant about Putin (and even threat him!) this way without ending in jail (or worse).
I am not sure that Prigozhin will live a happy life in Belarus. Some kind of "accident" will happen.

Re: Possible, attempted coup in Russia??
Probably he opened a bankaccount in Panama a couple of years ago, and what do mercenaries, they fight for the money. Who has most money: The Yanks, they moved a couple of millions to his Panamenian account, and he turned his tanks against Putin, because somebody paid more (wasnt that the way it worked in AFG ??). And Putin did now the same, more money, and the tanks turn again !! ?? Money wins the war, no ???
