"Greedy" Motorbike Repairman Busted with 30Kgs ICE
Cambodia News, (Battambang Province): A motorcycle repairman, who seemed to be overly wealthy, came to the attention of the Battambang Provincial Gendarmerie, who suspected him of drug trafficking, so they put him on watch and monitored his movements until they were sure he was a big drug dealer. Then, on the afternoon of June 19, at Kab Ko Thmey village, Sangkat Ocha, Battambang city, the military police swooped in and arrested Thong So Sivin, a 23-year-old village repairman. By the end of the operation, special forces had confiscated over 30 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) and drug paraphernalia.
Military police first raided a rental room in Kab Ko Thmey village, O'Char commune, where they uncovered 1 kilo of drugs. Then, after questioning the suspect, the forces surrounded and raided another rental room in Chamkar Russey village, Sangkat Prek Preah Sdach, Battambang city, where over 30 kilograms of methamphetamine were being stored.
Police discovered that large shipments of methamphetamine were being delivered to the room in Chamkar Russey village, before being distributed in smaller quantities to places such as Kab Ko Thmey village, where it was sold locally by people like Thong So Sivin.
After being taken in for questioning after the first raid, the motorbike repairman confessed to the authorities that the drug mastermind kept the drugs in a rented room at the above address, but he would not give them the name of the mastermind behind the business. No way. But after receiving his confession, the specialized officers went to search the second rented room, where they found and removed more than 30 kilograms of ICE, in 47 packages of "Chinese tea". In all, 31 kilos and 713.34 grams of the drug were seized by police at the two locations, as well as some drug paraphenalia.
According to the provincial military police, the suspect had a real job as a "motorcycle repairman", but he was greedy and he started to work in the drug trade. The man, however, refused to give police any details about the identity or whereabouts of boss of the operation, but specialized forces have been researching the background of this huge drug trafficking ringleader. The investigation continues.

Tea, anyone ?
These are the infamous Guanyinwang "Chinese tea" packets used by South East Asia's main drug syndicate of methamphetamine manufacturers and traffickers. The drug is packaged as "Chinese tea" in Myanmar where it is produced, before being dispatched to nearby countries such as Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, for distribution and export.
Some of the packets are a different color, but the brand name is the same.
