19/06/23 17:28
Kampong Cham (FN), Jun. 16 – Cambodian prime minister HE affirmed that all the Montagnards, the Vietnamese rebels who took refuge in Cambodia in the past had left Cambodia.

The premier spoke on Friday morning (Jun 16) during his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Kampong Cham province.

"I would like to reaffirm that the Montagnards had left Cambodia. I also order new rebels arrested to be extradited to Viet Nam immediately. They recently committed deadly attacks in Viet Nam. Cambodia does not welcome rebel group," the premier underscored.

Samdech also warned all organizations based in Cambodia from contacting the rebels and strongly warned that if any organizations were found involved with the rebels, they will face dissolution.

According to Channel News Asia, the death toll following gun attacks on two police headquarters in Viet Nam's Central Highlands has risen to nine, including four officers, authorities said on Monday (Jun 12).

Twenty-six people have been arrested in connection with the rare shootings that occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Cu Kuin district of Dak Lak province, according to the website of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Viet Nam.

Breaking News: The situation appears to have escalated rapidly; HE the PM has ordered Cambodian troops to secure Cambodia's borders with Vietnam today.

Cambodian PM Calls on Public Not to Panic over Troop Deployment
AKP Phnom Penh, June 27, 2023 --

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HE, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has called on his compatriots not to get panic over the deployment of troops to defend the territorial integrity in Rattanakiri, Mondulkiri and Kratie provinces.

The Premier made the appeal in another voice message shared this evening on social media networks.

“Don’t worry about the outbreak of war,” he said, adding that the deployment of additional troops from Phnom Penh capital to Mondulkiri, Rattanakiri, Kratie and Thbong Khmum provinces is an intervention force to assist the Military Region 1 due to a series of territorial transgressions by unknown drones.

“I consider this act as an invasion and an attempt to commit terrorism on Cambodian territory. Therefore, we need to defend our national sovereignty,” he stressed.

Samdech Techo HE also ordered the Military Region 1 to cooperate with all forces to search for terrorists who had fled from Vietnam and are hiding in Cambodia. Moreover, he asked the local people to cooperate in providing information related to terrorism, affirming that Cambodian weapons are capable enough to shoot down these drones.

Besides, Samdech Techo HE called on any neighbouring countries that provide locations for the above-said drones to enter Cambodian territory to immediately stop this act.

“Please respect our sovereignty, we want nothing but peace, independence and our sovereignty," underlined Samdech Techo Prime Minister.

Earlier today, Samdech Techo HE ordered competent authorities to deploy 500 troops and at least 200 weapons to provinces at the border with Vietnam to take down unknown drones flying into the Cambodian territory.

According to the Cambodian Premier, many drones have successively flown into the Cambodian territory in Rattanakiri province. The Vietnamese side denied that they are not theirs. After continuous evaluation, he estimated that those drones would belong to the group who attacked Vietnam about two weeks ago.

PM: Shoot down illegal drones
Post Staff | Publication date 27 June 2023 | 12:10 ICT

Prime Minister HE has ordered the deployment of 500 soldiers with 200 anti-aircraft weapons systems to the northeastern provinces. The move comes after a reported increase in illegal drone flights from neighbouring Vietnam by alleged insurgents.

In a June 27 message, HE said the flights are suspected to be the work of an “insurgent ethnic group” in Vietnam, in the wake of a shooting incident two weeks ago. Vietnamese authorities have confirmed that the drones are not being flown by them.

“The units under the command of General Hing Bun Heang must be enforced right away. I have ordered the dispatch of 500 additional soldiers and 200 anti-aircraft weapons systems. We will not tolerate anyone who violates Cambodia’s territory,” he explained.

It was reported that at least nine people were killed in two shooting incidents on June 11 in Vietnam’s Cu Kuin district of Dak Lak province.

Taken from https://www.khmertimeskh.com/501315211/ ... atanakiri/:
Ratanakiri provincial governor Nhem Sam Oeun said yesterday that since the recent clashes between illegal armed groups and Vietnamese authorities in Dak Lak province in Vietnam, which borders Ratanakiri province, Cambodian troops have been deployed to patrol on a regular basis.

After receiving a report from the troops stationed at the border about the unidentified drones, Sam Oeun said that he contacted the Vietnamese authorities who denied any involvement in the incident. If there is an important event in the border area the Cambodian and Vietnamese sides always inform each other.

Sam Oeun said, “Violating Cambodian airspace, the drones started appearing from June 25 between 7pm and 9 pm. We identified them from the red light being emitted. They were not so big and our cameras recorded all activities from the Cambodian territory. But we cannot identify whether they belongs to the military or civilians?”

“The Cambodian soldiers fired but they did not hit the drones which flew back into Vietnamese territory. When this was repeated the next day, we reported to the Head of the government to find out,” he added.
