Cambodia News, (Stung Treng): On June 12, 2023, the police forces of Stung Treng City Police Inspectorate sent a suspect to the Stung Treng Provincial Prosecutor's Office for questioning and legal action in connection with a case of intentional violence committed against a man on June 11, 2023 in Stung Treng city.

According to the police, the suspect, Rem Chanchhaya, attacked Kob Youmen, a 32 year old construction worker, and slashed him about the head with a field knife. The victim sustained injuries to his head, and also to his right hand which he used to defend himself from the attacker, but his days are not in danger.

The suspect was arrested by the police on June 11, 2023 at Va Sonath Lot in Sre Po Village, Srah Russey Sangkat, Stung Treng City. After the arrest, the suspect said that he and the victim had had a grudge against each other for a long time, and when he saw Kob Youmen, he wanted to kill him, so he pulled out the knife and attacked him.
The suspect is currently being questioned at the Stung Treng Provincial Prosecutor's Office.
