Want to take some first timers out for dinner in Sihanoukville - what do you suggest - google search has nothing except a load of adverts where the suggested places were last reviewed in 2019 at the latest

Are there any decent restaurants left?
Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.

I don’t know if you’re looking for fancy or expensive and last time I was there the location was not cute
But I would suggest the m’lop tapang place named sandan
Best are the 2 for 1 cocktails but they only put in about a thimbleful of booze in
So I bring some fortification , … it’s
Not for me but for you , I would be at mikes burgers or Burger King

That's a good question. None impressed me enough to recommend it when I went there last month.

What type of food and what budget range? Plenty of restaurants in Sihanoukville now days.

But here are few:
Pepe
Toto' Pizza
Papa Pippo
Samurai
Romdoul Buffet BBQ
Romdoul's Place
Poipet BBQ
Sandan
Holiday Palace
Xihu Hotel has multiple high end restaurants.
Queenco has new steak restaurant I heard. Haven't try it yet though. Also Japanese there.
Curry King
Yasmine
Titanic
Khin's Shack
Sunset Lounge
Mama Indo
Kukai
Kravann if looking local food.

I was there in january and tried Romdoul buffet just after the golden lion roundabout, perfect place in my eyes, fresh seafood and not expensive. Dont remeber the exact price, but should be something as 15 dollar and 1 dollar for anchor can.
Tried also Poipet BBQ a little before golden roundabout, to the right, also nince place and nice priced.
I loved Snooky much more then expected, its full of chinese, yes, okay, so what ?? I dont have problems with them. Price skyrocket when they arrived, yes, probavly, they didnt when the yanks arrived ??
Enjoy Snooky . . .

I had seafood at 666 Restaurant a couple of weeks ago and it was very good.

Two days ago, I went to Kosh Pour restaurant. Packed with locals, the food was outstanding and cheap.

I assumed everything in Otres had been knocked down & destroyed

Do they still have their beachside restaurant ?

I've had several pizza's there over the years, as well as their blueberry ice-cream :)
