Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At around 7:00am on June 05, 2023, a gang of thieves attacked a Korean man and snatched his mobile phone, at the corner of Street 154 and Street 51, Sangkat Phsar Thmei III, Khan Daun Penh. The Korean victim was walking on the street when he was approached by a Khmer man on foot, who snatched the mobile phone and jumped on to a motorcycle with 2 people (1 male, 1 female) and made a quick getaway.

However, the thieves were not fast enough, because a Daun Penh district military police patrol saw and heard the attack, and they pursued the trio until the corner of Street 222 and Street 55, Sangkat Boeung Reang, Khan Daun Penh, where they captured the three suspects.
The three suspects are:
1-San Rida (aka De), male, 22 years old,
2-Tok Piseth, male, 34 years old,
3-Phat Sarith, female, 43 years old.
The two men both admitted that this was not their first time at stealing phones from foreigners; one also admitted to a longterm drug habit, while the other man has previously spent 5 years in Prey Sar prison for robbing a foreigner.

The Office of Criminal Investigation of the Phnom Penh Municipal Gendarmerie is preparing a case against the three thieves to be sent to court for legal proceedings.
