Re: Woman's Body Found Dumped on Roadside was Medical Clinic Victim
All these Korean surgery victims look the same, it's a kinda shitty aesthetic to die forCEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 12:27 am
***The victim was identified as a BJ, short for "broadcast jockey," a term used in Korea to refer to a person that films themselves talking, eating, or playing games on live broadcasting websites such as YouTube, Twitch or Afreeca TV.

I wonder how many missing persons there are in Cambodia and how many of them have met similar fates that have been more successfully concealed.
If you even visit one of these clinics, look around the back for freshly laid concrete and/or a collection of sturdy shovels.

I don't know what anyone else here thinks, but IMO the state of the victim when she was found is not necessarily proof of foul play.
Whatever happened, it's terrible, but I just wanted to address the internet rumors of a giant cover-up. More like a giant b-lls-up IMO. It seems very possible that the woman has previously had cosmetic surgery, so she may have gone to the clinic for another round, and there was a tragic accident/side-effects/allergic reaction.
Poor woman. They need to get these "clinics" closed down smartly. They are a disgrace. Unfortunately, it might only happen now that a foreigner has died and it's all over the news.
If she had botched cosmetic surgery, then her face could well be a swollen mess. We've seen plenty of examples of that on Cambodian social media. Broken neck and bruising could come from throwing her in the ditch or squeezing the body into the car or something that occured after her death. That can be checked by forensics. The local media and embassy are saying it doesn’t look like she was murdered, but her face was found badly swollen, and there are rumors claiming she was assaulted. - Anonymous source

Yes, you are a terrible serial killer. There is a lot of security around the border.Bongmab69 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 8:57 pm I am probably not the perfect morder commiter, but if you put the body in the back of the car, i would drive a little fUrther, let say 2 miles before viet border and dump the body there in the Mekong, when its crossed the border nobody ever will know ??

Re: Dead Woman (Korean Vlogger) Dumped on Roadside was Medical Clinic Victim
Very probably a case of utter incompetence and negligence on the part of the clinic, culminating in a callous disregard for the victim/customer in the race to save their own skins. Sadly, the further initial reporting and handling of the case imho reflects the overall sorry state of affairs that facilitates something like this and to let it get this far.. Experts quoted, later to become witnesses, instead.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 5:13 pm I don't know what anyone else here thinks, but IMO the state of the victim when she was found is not necessarily proof of foul play.

There’s a bit of a Monkey-See, Monkey-do kind of approach, with little real understanding of what to actually do.

Beauty parlor owners arrested over 'murder' of South Korean K-Pop DJ who underwent procedure: report

The alleged murder of a South Korean DJ in Cambodia has resulted in the arrest of a Chinese couple suspected of killing her under mysterious circumstances at their beauty clinic.
South Korean K-Pop DJ and influencer BJ Ah Yeong, 33, was last seen alive two days before her body was found wrapped in a matt and dumped in the Kandal province of Cambodia on June 6 and investigators traced her last movements to a beauty clinic owned by 30-year-old Lai Wenshao and his 39-year-old girlfriend Cai Huijuan, Viral Press reported.
Ah Yeong, who was followed by half a million people on social media, appeared to have a broken neck and her body was covered in bruises.
Wenshao and Huijuan reportedly claimed when questioned by police that the popular DJ died at their Phnom Penh clinic on June 4 after suffering a seizure while being given a saline drip during what was presumably a medical procedure.
The couple allegedly panicked and wrapped Ah Yeong in a red mat, put her in the trunk of their car and drove more than 50 miles before dumping the body.
Ah Yeong, who was said to be traveling in Cambodia, is described as being "beauty obsessed" and had previously undergone breast enhancement surgery.

Re: Dead Woman (Korean Vlogger) Dumped on Roadside was Medical Clinic Victim
It’s not Murder as such, but I do think that it should be considered the same. Just as deaths in DUI are in some places. It’s clearly the intent of this and similar clinics to conduct themselves in this manner.
Death due to Intentionally conducting medical procedures without necessary competence.
Death due to Intentionally letting unsafe machinery be operated by improperly trained staff.
Being the same as murder
While people think that they can get away with it, and probably in the absence of a just culture for honest errors/mistakes/poor outcomes, what will happen is the worst outcome, followed by the worst available punishment. What should be aimed for is mitigation towards a much less severe outcome, and consequentially less severe punishment.

Re: Dead Woman (Korean Vlogger) Dumped on Roadside was Medical Clinic Victim
Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: According to the suspects, owners of the clinic, the victim died on June 4; after being injected with an unidentified liquid, the patient convulsed and died of seizures in the clinic. The dead body was then removed from the clinic wrapped in a mat, and transported to Kandal by car, where it was thrown into a newly dug roadside ditch.
The South Korean police have requested a thorough investigation into the woman's death by the Cambodian police authorities and Health officials, along with the official autopsy procedure.
The investigation is still underway, and a murder charge has not been ruled out.

AfreecaTV Streamer Ahyeong Targeted with malicious comments from Chinese Internet Users after her Tragic Death in Cambodia

The reactions of Chinese internet users to the tragic death of AfreecaTV streamer Ahyeong have been gaining widespread attention.
On June 13, a post was created on the popular online community, 'FM Korea.' The post covered the story of the death of AfreecaTV streamer Ahyeong in Cambodia and revealed more details on the investigation of her death.
The netizen who created the post explained, "Preliminary reports from the post-mortem examination indicated that Ahyeong had suffered extensive facial injuries, with deep lacerations, burns, and bruises to such a degree that her face was unidentifiable. Furthermore, she had sustained a fracture to her neck."
The poster explained that at first, the Chinese netizens initially reacted with sadness by commenting, "Southeast Asia isn't safe. Among the countries, Cambodia is very dangerous, so you don't dare leave the hotel without a bodyguard" and "This is so sad."
However, the reactions changed when reports came out that the suspects are a Chinese couple. After the reports were made that the suspects are Chinese, the Chinese netizens commented, "There is no evidence that the suspects are Chinese," "Don't believe in the news reports," and "There are murders going on all over the world, why are they reporting on the Chinese suspects?"
Some Chinese netizens even left negative comments about the victim as well, saying, "She looks so young but she was 33? Of course, she's from the country of plastic surgeries."
Yet, it's worth noting that not all reactions were negative. Some Chinese netizens expressed their outrage and dismay, commenting, "Some Chinese people are merciless and they've become the devil," "Chinese people living in Southeast Asia aren't Chinese," "That Chinese couple probably wants to go to trial in Cambodia because they'll be sentenced to death for sure in China," and "These two Chinese people are atrocious."
Meanwhile, as per recent reports from Cambodia, a woman's remains were discovered in a pond in Phnom Penh. The body, which had been wrapped in a blanket, was found on June 6.
The initial identification of the deceased was a Korean woman in her 30s. A subsequent investigation by the local police unveiled her as BJ Ahyeong, an AfreecaTV influencer known for her Instagram following of over 250,000. It was reported that she had been visiting Cambodia for tourism purposes with an acquaintance.
