Re: Workers Get Three Days Off for July Elections
So why do they need the Monday and Saturday off, when voting is on a Sunday?
And will they try to ban booze on that weekend?

Saturday to travel home to collect money from village head man for Sundays vote and Monday to get back to work and also spend it
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Three days off for teachers , means no school classes for kids again.

Do they have to return to their home village to vote or can they vote in their local area?phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 5:46 pm Saturday to travel home to collect money from village head man for Sundays vote and Monday to get back to work and also spend it
Re: Workers Get Three Days Off for July Elections
As I understand it, yes, lots have to travel back. And yes, the alcohol sales ban for the weekend was announced at least a week ago. Many countries do that.Doc67 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 5:51 pmDo they have to return to their home village to vote or can they vote in their local area?phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 5:46 pm Saturday to travel home to collect money from village head man for Sundays vote and Monday to get back to work and also spend it

Re: Workers Get Three Days Off for July Elections
If they register on electoral roll in their commune of residence it removes any need to travel home to vote. My other half has done this and voted in every election since 2011 without having to go to her provinceDoc67 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 5:51 pmDo they have to return to their home village to vote or can they vote in their local area?phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 5:46 pm Saturday to travel home to collect money from village head man for Sundays vote and Monday to get back to work and also spend it

Re: Workers Get Three Days Off for July Elections
Voting is conducted in your registered Sangkat, most Cambodians never bother to deregister from the Sangkat where they were registered when born when they move elsewhere. However, they can register on the electoral roll of the Sangkat where they currently reside to avoid having to travel to vote, which many don't bother to do.
