Fraudulent Florist Sent to Court

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 24 May 2023, the Investigating Judge of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court ordered the detention of a Chinese woman accused of committing fraud and sent her to a temporary detention center pending legal action.

According to the pre-trial detention order of the Investigating Judge of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, the accused woman is ZHANG WANMIN, a 43-year-old Chinese florist living at 189 Monivong Blvd, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh. It is alleged that the woman has defrauded many people who ordered flowers from the accused, worth a total of USD13,140, on 19 May 2023 in Phnom Penh. The accused woman has been charged by the prosecution with "breach of trust and fraud" under Articles 390 and 391 of the Penal Code.

The accused woman was arrested by the military police and sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on 22 May 2023, following a complaint from YIN QINGQING, a Chinese national. The Chinese woman has been remanded in custody at Prey Sar Prison pending legal proceedings.

She'll probably try and palm it off on someone else.
