Cambodia News, Kandal province: Three Bulgarian nationals were arrested by police for stealing from an ATM at ACLEDA Bank Bek Chan Branch, on May 13,on National Road 4, west of Ang Snuol Market, in Kandal province.

The three suspects are:
1. NIKOLAEV IVELIN DIMITROV, male, 42 years old, holding passport number 3*********, dated 04-08-2022.
2. Name: TZVETANOV NIKOLAY ANDREEV, male, 32 years old, holding passport number 3*********, dated 01-07-2021.
3. Name: TSVETKOV ALEKSANDAR GEORGIVE, Male, 23 years old, Bulgarian, Passport No. 3********, Dated 17-04-2022.
The three Bulgarian men were staying at La Belle Resident Hotel, Sangkat Boeung Tumpun 1, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh, Room 202, 2nd floor.

Brigadier General Lak Meng Thi, Deputy Commissioner of Kandal Province, said that on May 13, 2023, they received a phone call from an employee of ACLEDA Bank Bek Chan Branch, saying that some foreign men had entered the ATM and shot out the security cameras. There were three foreign men in a car which was parked across the road from the bank; one man remained behind the wheel and the two other men entered the ATM booth, shot out the security camera, and smashed the money distributor.

The district police inspectorate patrolled the area and saw the three suspects in a black Prius car, with license plate Phnom Penh 2BN-6061, driven by a foreigner, parked on the side of National Road 4, so the police brought the three suspects to the district police inspectorate and verified with security cameras that the suspects present had shot the camera and smashed the ATM .

According to the excuses from TSVETKOV ALEKSANDAR GEORGIVE, he was driving around with his accomplices NIKOLAEV IVELIN DIMITROV, and TZVETANOV NIKOLAY ANDREEV, when they saw an ATM, and then went inside and fired a shotgun at the security camera and smashed the machine because they were all drunk.

After searching the men's hotel room, the police took them to the provincial commissioner to build a case for legal proceedings.

It might have been a better idea to ram the car directly into the ATM, shoot out the CCTVs, and then if police arrive, to plead the normal drunk driving and firing off shots at random (following local custom).
