Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh) :The police arrested Ms. Chiv Nara, a woman land trader, on May 8, 2023 in Siem Reap and sent her to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court. The accused was placed under investigation for two episodes of breach of trust which are said to have occurred in a Phnom Penh hotel on November 17 and 30, in 2019.

The court has decided to detain Ms. Chiv Nara, the owner of Sovannaphum Siem Reap Real Estate Company, for cheating Australians of around US$600,000 to buy land for a plot of land in Kandek commune, Prasat Bakong district, Siem Reap province.
Ms. Chiv Nara, Khmer, aged 35, was remanded in custody by Phnom Penh Municipal Court Investigating Judge for criminal offenses that are punishable under the provisions of Article 391 and Article 392 of the Penal Code..

According to sources, the businesswoman was arrested following a complaint made to the authorities, accusing her of swindling Australians out of a US$600,000 investment in a land deal in Kandek commune, Prasat Bakong district, Siem Reap province.
