Khmer Youths Busted Crossing Thai Border with 10Kgs of Ketamine

Cambodia News, (Siem Reap): Mr. Tuy Chantra, Investigating Judge of the Siem Reap Provincial Court, has remanded two male suspects in custody, on charges of attempting to traffic nearly 10 kilos of drugs across the border from Siem Reap to Thailand.
The two suspects were arrested and taken into custody at 4:45 pm on May 4, 2023 in Stung Bot Village, Sangkat Phsar Kandal, Banteay Meanchey Province. The pair were then sent on to Siem Reap to be questioned and formally charged by the authorities.

According to a statement made by the Siem Reap Provincial Police Commissioner this morning, May 7, 2023, that the two suspects are: 1-Pov Sieng Heng, male, 20 years old,
2-Sith Rith, male, 17 years old.
Police seized 10 packets of ketamine packaged as 1 kilogram packets of dried durian, weighing a total of 9887.36 grams .

Currently, Mr. Tboy Chantra, the Investigating Judge of Siem Reap Provincial Court, has sent the two youths to the Anti-Drug Department prison on a temporary basis, while the ringleaders and the remaining members of the gang are being investigated by the Anti-Drug Police Department on crimes related to money laundering as well as the international cross-border traffic of illegal drugs.
