True Detective II

Post by Kampong Spooner »

Heard the news (I'm slow out here) that a new season of True Detective is out. If you didn't see the first series, and like TV, then watch it- some of the best acting ever seen IMO.

Downloaded the first episode and will watch it later, totally new story, with all new cast and hearing rave reviews about it.

Anyone else a fan of the first season with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey?

Vince Vaughn is great in this role.

I actually prefer this series to S1...so far.

I find it hard to believe Vince Vaughn is good in anything. It's like saying Adam Sandler is funny. However, the first season was so compelling I guess I'm gonna have to suspend my disbelief for a bit and give him the benefit of the doubt.

First season was absolutely brilliant, better IMO than breaking bad that was my favorite before that.
I hope second season stands up comparison.

Oooh, finally found someone who agrees with me. Love BrBd, but TD1 was solid. Good writing by Pizzolatto and good direction by Cary Joji Fukunaga.

Haven’t seen S2 yet, but Pizzolatto wrote it too, I think.

Just watched first episode season 2. Didn't really have the impact and atmosphere i remember the opener for S1 having. So will have to wait and see how it pans out

Really hated the last episode. I was ecstatic at the end of the episode before, that non-actor bogtrotter Farrell got written out, only to be reincarnated in the next epi.

Grrr...

Gotta agree.
Not as compelling so far as the first season.

Liked Farrel in "In Bruges ".

But the best work Farrel did was his sextape with Nicole Narain.
This hottnesssssss.

Give it some time. I thought last year started slow too. They're just feeding you background info now. Wait 'till they backtrack into all the weird kink that the Casper dude was into.

Please let that Irish cunt Farrell die properly tonight.

He looks like a fucking narcissistic beagle on valium, except more sleepy.
