Just a few points regarding the ER...

- The ER is a Temporary Extension of Stay (EOS), to apply for an ER EOS the applicant needs to have entered the country on an E-type (Ordinary) Visa.

- The official fee for a 12 month EOS directly from the Department of Immigration Visa Office is $180. This requires the applicant to provide extensive supporting documentation such as official proof of retirement/pension status, proof of sufficient funds/income for the duration of their stay, Certificate of Residence issued by Sangkat.

- The $290 quoted in the article is if applying via a Visa agency.

- If aged 55+ and applying for the ER EOS via a Visa agency, the above mentioned supporting documentation is not required.

- If aged under 55 and applying via a Visa agency, official proof of retirement/pension status and proof of sufficient funds/income for the duration of their stay is required.

- The ER EOS is not limited to persons aged 55+.

- Persons on an ER EOS are not permitted to open a business or work in Cambodia.
