Cambodia News Phnom Penh: While the sky was raining heavily mixed with thunder, two suspects detained by police, a foreigner and a Cambodian, broke out of the cell at the Russey Keo District Police Inspectorate and escaped on the night of the 25 April 2023.


According to Russey Keo district police, the two suspects who escaped are: A foreign man who was charged for murder(identity unknown), and Phal Ry Rom, a 24 years old car mechanic, who was involved in a RANGE ROVER theft case. Authorities are pursuing the two suspects in order to comply with the law, the official said.

Colonel Heang Tharet, Russey Keo District Police Inspector, could not be reached for comment. Updates to come.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Two men escaped from Russey Keo Police Inspectorate jail, located on National Road 5 in Sangkat Chrang Chamres II, Khan Russey Keo, Phnom Penh, at 9:50 pm on April 25, 2023. According to sources, the two suspects were being held in pretrial detention at the Russey Keo District Inspectorate when they broke out and escaped.

One of the two escapees is a foreigner, AYU KINGSLEY, a 37-year-old Nigerian man, resident at Bali Condo C12, National Road 6A, Khan Chroy Changva, Phnom Penh. The Nigerian businessman was arrested on April 22, 2023, in front of House 18-20, Street 11 (New World Borey), Boeung Chhouk Village, Khan Russey Keo, Phnom Penh, for aggravated intentional violence (using a machete) against another foreigner. The victim was taken to Calmette Hospital with serious injuries.

The other escaped suspect, PHAL PHIRUM, a 23-year-old man, was arrested in Banteay Meanchey province after stealing a RANGE ROVER Series 2014, with license plate Phnom Penh 2BT-5818, on April 20, 2023,in Khan Russey Keo, Phnom Penh.

The Russey Keo district police inspector can not be contacted for further information, but the two men are presumably still at large.

Cambodia News, Oddar Meanchey Province: One of the two suspects who escaped from the temporary detention center at Russey Keo District Inspectorate has been found and detained by officials in Oddar Meanchey. The suspect who was arrested was a Cambodian named Phal Phirum, 23 years old, and he will be returned to Russey Keo authorities..

Meanwhile, Nigerian suspect, AYU KINGSLEY, who also escaped from Russey Keo jail, is still being sought by police.
