Home Cooking.

Post by Tootsfriend »

Now that it's mango season and with the price of mangoes varying from free to 1,500 r a kg it's a good time to experiment and make a batch of mango chutney. This stuff goes well with rice or as a side dish with chicken . If fact if you've made a batch you like you will even end up with putting it on your toast in the morning.

My go-to recipe: https://www.daringgourmet.com/indian-mango-chutney/

Nigella seats are a little hard to get but they are essential. I by them online.

Or while it's still hot, make some dried mango sheets

My mango chutney recipe is similar to that. Usually use dried chillies, more cumin, coriander and I never have nigella seeds so just opt for mustard seeds (different flavour but I like it)

Feeling slightly more adventurous

Nigella seeds, not seats. Heat has fried my brain.

Made some tasty hot mango sauce last night to throw over the chicken wings :thumb:
