Pet owners are selfish.
When pets can emit twice the carbon emissions of our homes’ electricity and kill up to 200 million wild prey in the UK every year, we cannot stay silent. Unfortunately, in many cases pet ownership is simply another form of destructive consumerism.
For obvious reasons, truth-telling about pets to friends can be a painful process but it is not something we should shy away from.

After I read your comment I went over to my neighbours apartment and berated him about his goldfish. When he opened his door I shouted, HOW DARE YOU?
Best it to get it out in the open. sure enough, it was a painful process, though I'm glad I didn't bottle it. We have fallen out - a small price to pay for protecting the environment.

When I was five, my tortoise took one for the team and ran away. I didn’t understand at the time, but now realise the world is a better place for her selfless act.

Eat crab, do it doggy. The universe will thank you.
Re: Pet owners are selfish.
The world is really going nuts. So now the carbon emissions fascists go after pet owners already, noted.
Re: Pet owners are selfish.
I changed my pet squirrel's diet from nuts to carnivore to get rid of pesky handbag dogs one by one. I think in years to come humanity will thank him for his endeavours in the dark of night.
(note: I really do have a squirrel at my house in Toul Kork, I have no idea how it has survived a country where folks eat anything that moves)

Nobody owns a cat. If anything, it's the other way round.
