Cambodia News (Takeo) 10 April 2023: Police in Takeo province's Tram Kak district inspectorate have arrested four suspects after an elderly man filed a lawsuit against his grandson for stealing a necklace and more than $10,000 in cash.
Mr. Duk Thiya, Police Inspector of Tram Kak District, said the above incident happened at 3:30am at Moha Sena Village, Taphem Commune, Tram Kak District, Takeo Province on 2 April 2023.
The thieving grandson is Moul Piseth, alias Pich, male, 16 years old, living in Damnak Kantuot Village, Damnak Kantuot South Commune, Kampong Trach District, Kampot Province. He was assisted in the crime by three accomplices. The youth and his friends spent the stolen money on a brand new motorcycle and an iphone.

According to the 69-year-old man's complaint, when he left home to visit the family, his grandson broke into his house at night by forcing the lock with a knife, and stole jewellery and US$10,000. On his return home, on 8 April 2023, the old man went to the police, and the local authorities in Takeo immediately conducted a search for the suspects, together with the Sihanoukville Provincial Police and the Kampot Provincial Police. The grandson of the victim was arrested along with three of his friends, who were accomplices in the robbery.

Currently, the criminal police force of Tram Kak District Police Inspectorate are questioning and building a case to send the suspects to court for legal action. The police confiscated a 2023 motorcycle, 1 license plate, 1 iPhone 13 Pro, 2 necklaces and 10,000 USD.
