We want to live in America

Post by Tootsfriend »

This has really got me confused. So many people from other countries wanting to live in America, probably the most powerful and richest country in the world , they spend billions of $$ on space projects, the military, and donate with a open chequebook to Ukraine and yet I find it hard to believe this homelessness is really happening in USA.

No confusion. Poor state policy.

Housing prices through the roof due to Silicon Valley and overseas buyers. Ordinary workecannot afford housing. State don’t want to build low cost housing. Low cost housing always depresses property values. The projects attract gangs and drugs. No billionaire wants to live next to that.

Plus the generous tax payer paid California benefits. Even the homeless can shower at any public library.

Jobs can be strangled by high taxes and excessive regulation.

Yes, they should stop spending money on all that useless stuff and give it all for free to dossers on Skid Row. Like they do in Australia and so many other places. :?

California does, and thus the hordes of tent cities.

The population is squeezed to death by increasingly high taxes to pay for the free stuff and are fleeing to places like Texas.

And bringing their poisonous ideas California ideas with them.

Funny thing about giving away stuff for free to those who pay nothing.

There is never enough free to give away to make them satisfied.

Just showing cities democrats destroyed does not give a picture of life in the US...there are many hell holes, horrible schools...crime..a newly arisen race war.. People with the ability are fleeing the democrat run areas...Even States are fleeing to other States..check out what parts of Oregon are doing in Idaho.. thinking you can move there and live well is foolish. Those in power have destroyed the US and the cost of living is skyrocketing. Go to Paris and join the parade.

California's GDP dwarfs all other states, they should declare independence and deport all those homeless people from loser states.

It’s the same in Canada. At least in California, you can be warm while being homeless.

Houseless is closer to what they are

Interesting map of Sanctuary cites in the states>
https://cis.org/Map-Sanctuary-Cities-Co ... and-States

all are states that have sanctuary cities
California
Colorado
Connecticut
Illinois
Massachusetts
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Oregon
Vermont
Washington

Sanctuary policies are those followed by towns, cities, counties, states, and other jurisdictions that restrict most forms of cooperation with federal immigration authorities. While jurisdictions are not compelled by federal law to participate in federal immigration enforcement activities, federal law (8 USC § 1373) prohibits them from actively obstructing enforcement of federal law. In addition, sanctuary policies may violate the supremacy clause of the United States Constitution (Article VI, Clause 2) and the 10th Amendment.

Most importantly, sanctuary policies place the public at risk by preventing the federal authorities from locating, arresting, and prosecuting criminal aliens. The result is that all residents, including legal immigrants and illegal aliens, are in danger of being victimized, even killed, by criminal illegal aliens who benefited from protections afforded by sanctuary policies.
