Slow Internet
Slow Internet
My English is terrible. So here is an automatic translation from Chinese to English . It may not be perfect, but I hope you can understand.
Australia in the program of my friends already installed on my computer , so I browse websites outside China . Sometimes it works , but it is very slow. How can I make it faster?

Can you tell us if you are using a VPN, an add-on to your browser, or service like TOR.
Are you in China? I heard you cannot even use Gmail there currently? Strong VPN and Golden Frog, complained that the Chinese government had disrupted their services with unprecedented sophistication.
This means THE GREAT FIREWALL of CHINA is taking great measure to limit access for you.
However, if you are accessing sites outside of China successfully now, I think you may be using a service such as the TOR network. This service is normally slower because the information must travel across several nodes around the world.
Turn off all programs that might use bandwidth: direct downloads, torrent apps, even youtube, etc.
Can you provide anymore information? That is the only way we can help you.

Ironically, this actually works in many cases.

Yes, that is correct. I am in China. The program I use is called the TOR, but it does not always work, it is very slow. What can I do?

Once you reboot your brain, you will find that the Chinese government will replace your government.vladimir wrote:Please replace your government, and restart your computer.

Translation is fine I think.
But just rebooting the brain should do the trick.
AFAIK Vlad does not yet have a government.
Joking apart, the Chinese govt is creating problems for Chinese internet users, and people here have tried to help you. So who is making the problem ?

Re: Slow Internet
maybe strip out some of the china government spyware on your computer?
every chinese student in the university i worked at in oz was riddled with .gov spyware.
i refused to use their usb's anywhere on my LAN.
security agencies were very interested in some of the payloads.

I read somewhere that Tor is normally slower because the information must travel across several nodes around the world.Twiggy wrote:The program I use is called the TOR, but it does not always work, it is very slow. What can I do?
And they suggested that you should turn off all programs that might use bandwidth: direct downloads, torrent apps, even youtube, etc.
Sorry, I don't remember where I read that.
