Last year I saved a few hundred dollars per person x 3 when flying out of Bangkok, instead of Siem Reap or Phnom Penh to the UK. That was with Qatar.

Saudi Arabian Airlines. EUR 514,49 for one adult for the KUL-AMS-BKK trip. For my kid even EUR 85 cheaper.
Outbound one stop of two hours, inbound one stop of 4 hours.

My friends took the flight with Saudi AA. They said the worst flight ever (they were the only foreigners on the plane and were treated like shit)

When was that? I read pretty positive recent reviews about the airline.
Equipment new too, 787-1000, 32 inch seat pitch.... Dry airline though.

Happy to report back in early October on the experience.

I fly regularly, with multiple transits and different airlines, and never have to go through that hassle because the flights are all made on the same booking, with codeshare/interline baggage agreement airlines. Have transited through KL twice to/from NZ in the past 6 months, Malaysia Airlines all the way, no issues.

I bought the tickets on the Air Asia site. I asked when checking in why no boarding pass for my onwards flight and was told a change to the system .

I think they need to fly that weekend and July 4 prices suck.

That said, based on current prices I would have paid $20-50 extra to fly Eva air or Korean over Asiana. That’s just because I know they’re ranked high for service, I’m sure Asiana will be fine though.

Departed from Bangkok today and saw at least twenty wide body planes still in storage. I think that's your answer. Limited capacity suits the airlines at this time.

My layover is roughly 4 hours in Japan. I try never to go beyond that.
I guess my next question would be how far in advance did you book?

My layover is roughly 4 hours in Japan. I try never to go beyond that.

4 hour layover isn't bad at all. I been monitoring for awhile. I booked the ticket this past friday (April 14) and I leave NYC on July 2nd
If you have a second, you can check . NYC-PP fucking super expensive. I even had flexibility in 2/3 days departing and leaving. everything over 2k.

As promised, my experience on flying Saudia last month. About 10 months ago I saw a bargain, KUL-AMS-BKK for about EUR 450,-. Never had flown them before, well, now I did.

The experience was a bit of a mixed bag. First, Saudia is a dry airline, and the airports are dry as well as far a I could see, so don't expect any alcoholic beverages. When I bought a beer at Amsterdam airport pre-departure they were reluctant to sell it because of this, only after I promised i would not bring it on board they handed me the beer....

The flight out of KUL was a bit of a mess. The incoming plane was about 4 hours late, so departure was delayed too, and because of that we missed our connecting flight. Bummer. But Saudia handled it pretty well. They informed me about the delay well in advance, so we could simply delay our trip to the airport. Also, before departure, they sent me a new itinerary with a changed routing through Frankfurt. Because all of this we arrived in AMS about 6 hours late. That sucked. At least we didn't have to go through the hassle of visiting a transfer desk in Saudi Arabia to be rescheduled, which usually is the case. All was taken care of in advance. Another nice touch, because we only had a very short layover due to the delay Saudia changed our seating and put us in the front of the plane out of KUL so we were amongst the first to deplane. Nice touch.

The planes were great. I have flown on three different planes with them, the 787-900, 787-1000 and a long haul Airbus A320 neo. The 787's were just lovely. Large screens, 33 inch seat pitch (really rare these days), and onboard service was OK. Nothing special, apart from the lack of alcohol. The airbus had just a 31 inch seat pitch, a large difference on longer flights, the same large screens.

The flight back was uneventful, but on the way back there was no WiFi at the connecting airport in Saudi Arabia. That sucked.

So would I recommend them. Yes. What I experienced was much different from what other airlines offer in coach. The price was.

I've used it for several flights lately and it's been very accurate. It will recommend to wait or buy now. My credit card (Venture X) uses Hopper, and if I buy when they say to and the price goes down further later they give a partial refund.

I wanted to give it a try but it is a mobile-only app? That means they are into your phone before you decide if they are any good.
