Guy arrested for spray painting the Grand Palace

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Yeah, I agree. Maybe the boy should have gone to the Ministry of Justice or the Council of Ministers offices instead? That would have been a lot more on the ball...

That would get a lot less jail time. As far as I know ministers, unlike royals, are not treated as living incarnations of Gods in Thailand.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I hope the punishment for wilful destruction and defacement of property is severe. So sick of this idiocy. Go live under a bridge if that’s the way you like it.

Hope they don’t lock him up too long, he may have some mental issues or had a breakdown.

While I agree with those who say that it isn't a clever thing to do (well, obviously it isn't, especially if you get caught which is almost unavoidable), I have a lot of sympathy for young Thai people's frustration with their "system". Different people vent that frustration in different ways, some are more clever about it than others, what else to say.

Agree, why not just behead him? :?

It may well have been stupid, but if every stupid person or action were to be very harshly punished, where would we be?

It's paint, ffs, a bucket of whitewash will fix it in 5 minutes.

What will the cost be of imprisoning this guy?

Fix the cause of the problem, not the symptoms
