Girls, Weed & Music!!!! Could 9

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Hell yea I'm about to shoot up some weed in my neck right now!
"Pro-drug"? What does that mean?

I used to grow weed in Taiwan every winter between January and March in my spare bedroom... Back then, you could buy seeds direct through the mail from England, and for 25 to 40 dollars, you got 20 seeds... Good quality, at least 18 sprouted and rooted and 14 to 16 were female... For only a small investment, after the end of three months, I had about 300 grams (air-dried and then properly cured packed tight for 3 months in an airless jar in the fridge)... That supply lasted a year as I only smoked one or two joints a week, which was all I needed to keep my ulcerative colitis in remission...

BTW: most people don't know that after growing and drying ripe marijuana flowers, one must cure them for 3 months minimum in a cool, dark space, in an airless glass container... The THC doubles and the crappy CBDs disappear... The crap they sell in the bars, even if pure sensi or sativa, is almost always too green and improperly or hastily dried -- and not cured at all -- and that's why it so often has that raunchy yucky afterburn to it... Nobody knows how to do anything properly.

Oh well, as for all the "anti-drug" people, ask yourselves -- do you drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes? Nicotine is addictive. Weed is not.

One reason I do not enjoy going out to bars in Cambodia is because everyone is smoking like a fucking chimney, and it's irritating as hell...

At least back in the West, bars and discos don't allow smoking anymore...

Cocaine is a wonderful drug with life saving properties. When used properly in the right hands. Not the in the hands of a druggie, unfortunately.

Just my opinions, of course.

No, it isn't. Nicotine generates an almost immediate physical craving that makes people smoke one after another. Unfortunately, I have noticed, half the people who smoke cigarettes habitually also become more irritable, tense and easily agitated than non-smokers. Why?

If you do a simple experiment, I can predict the results:

Take twenty non-smoking people. Make ten smoke two cigarettes a day for a month. Make the other ten smoke two joints a day for a month.

Then ask all twenty to go cold turkey at the end of the month. Observe their behavior. I guarantee you that 50% to 90% of the cigarette smokers will be looking for a cigarette within 12 to 24 hours. And, of those who smoked the weed instead, maybe 5% to 15% would look for weed.

Nicotine creates an intense physical addiction that marijuana does not. I have smoked both, so I know. Even in moderation, tobacco hooks you...

There are a load of academic articles on marijuana addiction out there - but I guess all the neuroscientists, doctors and PHD holders who have gathered data, studied and written about this subject don't know what they're talking about then.

Thanks for informing me. But why don't you try a better defense and support of your claim that goes against all current scientific data on the subject, rather than bang on about nicotine. Go on. Have a go. Cite a few research papers. Show me your workings.

Why do so many junkies condemn weed and alcohol? It's like they need to make themselves feel better about their own serious addiction by ragging on something else far less harmful to the average person.
I feel like you missed some dry sarcasm here but please correct me.

Look dude, there are handful of subjects I know about; narcotics is one of them. To state that marijuana is not addictive is, quite frankly, fucking absurd. As is going on about nicotene in your last answer. Im sure you also think marijuana is 'bascially harmless'. This is also bullshit. My uncle died from chronic necrotizing pulmonary aspergillosis and it was no conincidence that he smoked weed most days of his adult life. He also fucked everything up and went from a pretty successful dude in the music biz management to ending up in prison. I wont make the leap that his love of marijuana caused this but he sure did make some bizarre decisions in his life. As did my cousin who is also a habitual weed smoker and has been since the 1970s.

Now dont get me twisted, I do think marijuana should be legal because I think all drugs should be legal - and controlled. I also think marijuana has some benefits, like all drugs. But this dated Cheech and Chong 'just a herb' 'its not even addictive' nonsense belongs in the 1970s. However seeing as you are a pot head I will posit the following statements for accuracy.

Nicotene is highly addictive and bad for health.

Marijuana can be addictive and can cause health issues.

Both statements are undeniable. Therefore stating 'marijuana isn't addictive' is fucking laughable.

Sure. Obviously the below papers, which is about 0.00001% of research on this subject are wrong cos 'marijuana isnt addictive man'. This dude oricha says so. And so do you. In fact the below papers are *sotto Otto The Bus Driver* 'a conspiracy man, no doubt paid for by the alcohol industry and the government cos they scared dude, they scared of the weed man, no more wars, world peace, everyone needs to blaze a fatty, yeah dude.'
