CEO News: The number of foreigners deported from Cambodia has been increasing over the past few years, almost doubling from year to year.
Figures below are the number of foreigners deported in 2019,2021,2022. [We were unable to find the number of deportations for 2020, year of Covid restrictions.]

Over 1,500 foreigners deported last year

The authorities deported 1,533 foreign nationals from 63 countries last year over various offences, according to a report presented during the General Department of Immigration Congress on Thursday.
The report, tabled during the congress to review last year’s work and set plans for 2020, showed that the 1,013 Chinese nationals who were deported, topped the list of foreigners who committed crimes and were sent home.
They were followed by Thais (220), Vietnamese (149), Nigerians (94), Indians (31), South Koreans (25) and Americans (17).

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): According to the Immigration Police of the Ministry of Interior, the annual update of the immigration report data for 2021-2022 has shown that over 3,000 foreigners, mostly Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese nationals, were deported out of Cambodia during this period.
Most of the deportees were living and working in Cambodia without work permits and/or correct visas.

The General Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Interior has stated that Cambodia deported 5,825 foreigners from 42 countries in 2022

According to the report of the General Department of Immigration, which was distributed to the media during a meeting to review the work results in 2022 and set the implementation direction for 2023 of the General Department of Immigration on March 14, 2023, under the chairmanship of Mr. Sok Phal, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior, there were 5,825 foreigners deported from 42 nationalities – most of them Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese.
The foreigners were deported because they went to work in Cambodia without proper documents and committed crimes.

Cambodian authorities deport over 1,000 foreign nationals

In the first six months of this year, Cambodian authorities deported more than 1,000 foreign nationals living illegally in Cambodia. The deportations were made to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent cross-border crimes.

Director General of the General Department of Immigration (GDI) Kirth Chantharith said yesterday that in the first half of this year, at least 1,038 foreign nationals were deported from Cambodia.

Their deportation comes after authorities apprehended foreigners who were residing or working illegally in the country.

He said there were 26 nationalities among the deportees, including, 549 Chinese, 169 Indonesians, 129 Vietnamese, 26 Thais, 25 Malaysians and others.
