2 The Moon: Is Cambodia music going K-pop?

Watching music videos with missus last night. Gone are the Khmer men wearing dress white shirts and black pants. Gone are the Khmer women wearing traditional clothes, too.

Replaced by boy and girl groups who dress and move just like K-pop idols. They aren’t shockingly thin -20-40 kg nor as sharp movements, but all the elements are there.

I don’t remember this phenomenon at the last KTV in Phnom Penh a few years back.

Have things changed that much?

You’ve been here since UNTAC. I doubt the K-pop takeover started then.

Supposedly one of the members of the group opened a Korean clothing store, importing from Korea. And then everyone started wearing them.
