US Social Security payments suspended

Post by JosephLarrybradley »

Hello from Siem Reap Cambodia.

I am Joseph Larry Bradley, Seventy years old American retired and living in Siem Reap.

I've read your post for some time and this if my first.

I just got a notice saying my Social Security payments are suspended. "maybe you didn't respond to mail.."

I'm not the only Retired American in Cambodia and don't expect the only one to have this problem.

I'm at my wits end.

Hi Joseph,

Maybe try reposting this in: Ask the Expats (Questions & Answers)

I think there will be more of an audience to see your video there than on the Introduce yourself page.
I'm sure there will be members from USA who can give you some good advice with your problem.

Good Luck

Make an appointment at your embassy

Provided no outstanding warrants or tax bills in the USA the likelihood is that they help you in one way or another

I'm going to bump this again.

Is there an American here who can assist him?
If he has to visit Phnom Penh I can help out with a guesthouse, anyone able to help him embassy side, I'll be able to help out with taking you to lunch, dinner, drinks or whatever you'd like.

embassy cant/wont do jackshit

Every year Americans get a form letter ( 7162) which you NEED send back stating ur alive. I got mine in Kep in August, took nearly 10 weeks to reach me, leaving 2 weeks to reply to the states< sent them an email telling them it was on its way and they told me they give ya an extra 2 months

you should NOT have sent it to the embassy or Manila
should be sent to:
SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
PO BOX 7162
WILKES BARRE PA 18767-7162
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Any way send an email to; "FBU Manila" <[email protected]> or call; ; PHONE: +632-5301-2000
https://ph.usembassy.gov/services/social-security/
Tells you EXACTLY what to do

I just did a change of address from Kep back to Phuket back in jan, took them 2 weeks to confirm
I Always get an auto reply stating they got me email, ever time i send them an email

I got my deposit March 3rd

The Embassy will not assist him with this issue, only the SSA office in Manila or stateside.,The form I believe he is talking about is for individuals residing overseas that needs to be signed and returned stating that you are still alive, I have never heard of form SS 271 A, but I know that’s not the form for that.

Is there the option to get that form letter and anything else important emailed rather than physically posted? It seems like not receiving the letter would be a common problem.
