Knever saw 100.000 before last X-mas but since then i very often getted them in front of Phsar Kandal change-offices when i said "tomtom", I meant 50.000s but they gave me 100.000s whats even easier for me . . .

I've gone there quite some times and I doubt that's really what has happened to the OP. More likely stepped into a massage place on the way where that kind of switcheroo is common.

Generally speaking though, I agree with those who say to use riel instead. No more time wasted on scrutinizing notes, no more issues with change and breaking large notes. Once you got used to it, it's great all around.

Thats the only place they did not have change and i got the Bill back!

With all due respect from what I understand pride is a sin. All I am saying is that you can’t expect a small shop to make change for a $100 note for something that is under $20. You go one (1) street over to 41 and you have many banks that will exchange you $100 note for smaller bills.

A similar thing happened to me in siem reap down one of the alleys after doing a cooking class. We were a group of 10 or 12 in total, and the 4 of us were the last to pay and leave. We weren't breaking a 100, but they returned our dollars saying they were all ripped. And lo and behold, the notes they returned were all ripped.

There's no excuse for a business being unable to change a $100.

It's 2023, not 1973

When I ran my place we would routinely change any bill denomination. Open for business: have a decent float. It's unprofessional to be otherwise, especially in a place like this restaurant where bills will usually be from $20-50
