ROBBERY WARNING IN SIEM REAP!!!

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Its not really a headache the 3 or 4 languages, it has a lot of advantages. The english dont want to speak french and the french dont want to speak english= very often trade between those 2 countries passes through belgian hands, everybody happy, hahaha.

The main headache on Belgium is the 1500 different beers !!

Considering that most native English speakers rarely bother learning another language, I don't have any issue with people who speak it as a second or third language making mistakes.

I have however, always had an issue with native speakers who don't seem to know how to use their own language properly. Native English speakers are in an extremely, extremely privileged position where we can quite easily get through life, travel the world, do business internationally, study whatever subject we want etc, without ever having to bother mastering a second language.

This isn't the case for the majority of the rest of the world. Cambodia being a great example. If you live your life only ever knowing Khmer, your life opportunities are severely limited. It takes many years of hard work to master something that has been given to us native speakers for free. Something that we often take for granted without a thought.

So with that in mind, if we really can't be bothered to master a second language, like the majority of the rest of the word is largely forced to, the very least we can do is learn how to use our own language correctly. Some people take the view that if you correct someone's grammar or spelling, you're being some sort of grammar Nazi. I couldn't disagree more. Failing to learn a second language is bad enough, but failing to know how to use your own native language properly is, I'm sorry to say, and will probably get a lot of hate for this, just unforgivable as far as I'm concerned.

With the exception of dyslexics, or people with other related disabilities, and of course the odd typo that we all make from time to time, either use English correctly, or stay off the internet and go back to school until you can.
