Teens Sent to Court for Noodle Shop Attack on Schoolboy

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On February 14, 2023, 6 teenage boys were detained for attacking a 17-year-old boy with stones and knives at a pho noodle shop on St. 304, village 5, Sangkat Olympic, Khan Boeung Keng Kong, Phnom Penh, which occured last month, at 2:00 pm on January 6, 2023. The attack took place in the middle of the afternoon for an unknown motive, but it believed to be a premeditated revenge attack on the victim.

The suspects are Noeurn Sophanna, Khun Kovi Aukunpunleu, An Chaimenh, Phan Sienghai, Lot Samnang, and Chu Chievhav. The victim was Ly Hongpheav, a 17-year-old schoolboy from Thamtrey village, Sangkat Preysor, Khan Dongkor, Phnom Penh. He was knifed on the right shoulder, needing 6 stitches.
The police seized a Honda Scoopy (PNH 1JQ-1938), and a Suzuki Nex (Kompong Cham 1U-2641) from the attackers.
