Wasn't this guy's parents gun traffickers in the 90s?

That's not local, it's a National dip.truffledog wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 6:29 pm I love that Kampot Pepper/lime/salt/sugar dip served to beef loklak
The question is: do you add sugar and / or MSG (Ajinomoto) for 'enhanced flavor' or not?

Salt and MSG.
It’s a small bone of contention as I don’t use much, let alone a lot, of salt when cooking. The other half has jars of sugar, salt and MSG which I truly want to nail down and superglue shut.

Why do you say that? I've watched some of his videos, he speaks fluent Khmer and I believe he was brought up here, maybe some evangelist family? Seems like a nice enough guy anyway, he has a good hang on the place.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I’ll watch more of his videos now I know of them
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

It's not Cambodian food , per se, but the dishes, mainly soups, that are stacked full of vegetables, cannot be beat, health-wise.
Do they still import a lot of a vegetables? Maybe it's the soil but, if so, there's a business for someone.

In the Northeast loads of veggies are imported from Vietnam. My guess is this is the case for most of the Eastern part of Cambodia.Pseudonomdeplume wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 6:29 am It's not Cambodian food , per se, but the dishes, mainly soups, that are stacked full of vegetables, cannot be beat, health-wise.

Makes you wonder how MSG has become a main ingredient for virtually all dishes in a conservative country like Cambodia.Freightdog wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 10:49 pm Salt and MSG.

Hell, they even like to put it in the lemon juice-salt-pepper-(sugar, optional) dip.
I tried to ban it from the kitchen. So far failed.
