journalist searching for scandinavian stories about homelessness in Cambodia/Thailand

Hey Expats!

Im a swedish journalist looking for help. We are looking in to do a story about scandinavians abroad who ended up with nothing in Thailand, or Cambodia. A couple of years ago you could see some stories about this in the press. Stories about europeans living on the streets of Thailand. The reasons can be many, and for some people it ended good. But for a country with a high social security net, like Sweden, it can be intresteing hearing someone who choosed to stay on the other side of the earth, even if the ended upp homeless. So if I am searching for scandinavians with a unusual life story, where should i look?

I saw a guy that set up shelter inside a burned out Volvo; he was sitting in an IKEA like chair eating meatballs whilst listening to ABBA on Spotify. Not sure if that's the kind of guy you mean?

I saw a pretty dirty European once, not sure if he was homeless or just a math teacher on a bad night.

sometimes these people end up dead or in prison or on drugs, or problems with all 3 the last being death of course. Perhaps you could also cover these aspects in the story. money being only part of the issue.

There is one girl and guy team, both scandis (I believe the girl was under the Japanese friendship bridge begging) but they're not actually homeless and just hop from different guesthouses.

I don't see any homeless westerners around anymore, there were quite a few pre-COVID. They are nearly always alcoholics/ drug addicts.
