Taxi Driver Fights Off Three Car-Jackers
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 11:30 pm on February 10, 2023, a taxi crashed along the 30-meter road near Toul Pong Market in Sangkat Choam Chao I, Khan Por Sen Chey, Phnom Penh, as the driver was fighting off attackers.
According to the victim, a taxi driver, he was called to pick up three men in Takhmao City, Kandal Province and take them to Phnom Penh. Arriving in Phnom Penh, the passengers asked the driver to stop the car in a quiet place so they could urinate, but the owner of the car realized something was wrong and kept driving.
Then, suddenly, the three suspects attacked the taxi driver with a cable to rob him (and possibly kill him), and steal the car, but he used one hand to fight off the attack, and then oversteered the car on to Bok Khoeun Road, causing the car to crash.
The front of the car was completely damaged and the car stopped moving.Immediately, the three thieves opened the doors and got out of the car to escape, much to the surprise of the neighbors who came out to look.
After the local police arrived, the car owner was taken to the Choam Chao I Sangkat Administrative Police Station for further questioning. As for the damaged car, the owner had to pay for the repairs himself.

UPDATE: 2 Men Arrested !
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 10 February 2023 at 22:30 at Toul Pong Village, Sangkat Choam Chao 1, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, 3 robbers attacked a taxi-driver with a lethal weapon in an attempt to steal his car. Two of the three men are now in custody.
The car-jacking failed due to the reflexes of the quick-thinking taxi driver, Leap Komsan. In order to destabilise his attackers who were trying to put a garrote around his neck while he was driving, the taxi driver swerved the car to make it crash to a grinding halt. Shocked by the impact of the car crash, the robber with the garrote lost his grip and dropped the weapon; the three attackers then got out of the crashed taxi as fast as possible, and ran away.
However, the National Police were instructed to investigate and track down the three men. The operation was carried out by the specialized force of the Criminal Police Department, led by Brigadier General Hun Moniroth, Deputy Director of the Department.
On March 1, 2023, the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police and Tbong Khmum Provincial Police, arrested two suspects, including:
* 22 years old Chhorn Chamroeun, from Phsar Kandal Village, Sangkat Phsar Kandal, Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province.
* Sok Panha from Po village, Kong Kang commune, Ponhea Kreng district, Tbong Khmum province.
Currently, police are continuing to search for the third member of the gang, 18-year-old An GE, alias A.

That's some savage shit there. I don't believe that this was just a plain robbery attempt.. In order to destabilise his attackers who were trying to put a garrote around his neck while he was driving.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
