Is this merely a bump in the road of progress, or a sign of delusions of grandeur ?

The construction of the twin towers in Chbar Morn city, Kampong Speu province has not yet started construction, as the provincial authorities are still waiting to know if construction project will continue.
Answering a question from a "Kampuchea Thmey" journalist in this morning's press conference, Mr. Vy Samnang, Governor of Kampong Speu Province, confirmed that the project to build a skyscraper in Chbar Morn City, Kampong Speu Province, which has been announced since 2019, has not yet started the foundation, and since the project owner has not provided any further information to provincial authorities, they must decide to cancel or continue.

Mr. Vy Samnang said that, in 2019, before the outbreak of the Covid 19 crisis, there were plans to build twin tower skyscrapers in Kampong Speu province. The first building was designed to be 32 storeys high, and the second tower was planned to be twice as high, at 64 storeys, with plans to develop into shopping malls, office buildings, and entertainment facilities.

According to a source from the provincial authority, the investment offer was made by a local company, but they did not specify the name of the company and the amount of investment. With this project, Kampong Speu provincial authorities hoped to raise the profile of the province and attract more investors, especially since Kampong Speu is the connecting area between Cambodia's two main economic poles, Phnom Penh and Preah Sihanouk.
