Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Action Photos of Tuktuk "Snatchers" at Work (VIDEO added)

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Hello!
Friendly Reminder: This phone-snatching is nothing new, but even when riding in a tuktuk, you should be careful at all times. Thefts by motorcycle thieves are very common in Phnom Penh, especially if you are coming or going from PIA (airport). Do not leave your bag, phone, or wallet in a position where it can be targeted: that could mean, sitting on the seat next to you, or even in your hands, as you take a selfie or talk to a friend, or while you search for your destination on your iphone GPS.

Image
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 4 February 2023, a Facebook user Hea Khy Hsk posted a video of a group of thieves riding a motorcycle (Phnom Penh 1JX-2213), who robbed a tuktuk passenger of his phone in Phnom Penh at 16:18 on 2 February 2023.

The Facebook user who caught the thieves in action, wrote in the post: "The act of stealing the phone in front of my car is very clear. The license plate is also clear. " What more do the authorities need to arrest these gangsters ?
Many social media users have also shared similar stories for tuktuk riders to be very careful, especially on the road between the airport and riverside.
