Yeah you could do that but I'm not sure that would solve the problem as they could still furtively switch it around inside the cash register, behind the bar, etc. Many currency scams in other countries are done by money changers in the street in broad daylight.Cooldude wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 10:00 pmWhy not just walk the 20 feet inside the bar and hand the $100 bill to the cashier herself?daeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 8:39 pmThat sounds very likely that it was the bar and not the money changer.Rico valentino wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 12:54 pm There’s some real comedians replying to my thread!
Not everyone knows the scams I’m a tourist here.
And I put at the end we live and we learn!
For the person that said about no shame being in a girly bar
I’m single man mate! of course I have no shame
So you’ve never been in a girly bar!
I posted this to help others that may be more unfortunate than me!
Luckily $100 dollars is nothing for me but I’m sure no one likes to be scammed even if it was $5
I thought this site was about putting in things about Cambodia!
Even the last three digits thing doesn't sound reliable enough- I'd take a picture of the USD note in front of the waitress.
What a crappy place and thanks for sharing the experience.
It's never happened to me but I had a friend who changed at a money changer and ended up with a counterfeit USD through sleight of hand.
If you take a photo you have strong evidence.

Name and Shame hey? seems a little unfair considering the accused has no opportunity for natural justice..Rico valentino wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 2:04 pm As I’ve left phnom pehn now I thought would be a time to post the smiling assassin that swapped my $100 to a fake $100

Even if your info is correct, you have left the country... let it go.

Or leave an actual negative review on Google. 2 minutes of your time. Minimum demonstration of integrity?

It's hard being a naive sexpat.
Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get the hang of how it works soon.
Maybe after you learn to use the return key a little less frequently.
It must be embarrassing too.
I mean.
I know this is an anonymous forum but still, the 2 guys you were with are witnesses to your embarrassment.
I hope they don't spill the beans to your friends back home.

yeah I had a mate that got scammed handing large notes over to a taxi driver in China that way, handed over a couple from the back seat to the driver before he twigged
