New places to eat... anything?
New places to eat... anything?
No doubt some places did not survive the past few years. But now with things looking up, are there any good new places to eat that you have come across? Khmer, Asian (yes, I know that's a broad category and includes Khmer cuisine), western (that one's pretty general too), or anything else? With or without drinks, including breakfast, lunch, or dinner?
Even when a person is not there, the water flows.

I am a big fan of Pepe Bistro; the daily lunch set menu is great value at USD 15.00. Changes daily, reservations very much recommended.
4P's Pizza has to be the best Pizza in town.
Kathmandu Kitchen and Gorkha Palace for Indian and Nepalese.
Yi Sang for Chinese dumplings.
Backyard Cafe, La Croisette, and The Shop for breakfast.
Mexicano for, you guessed it, Mexican.
Lone Pine for burgers.
Hops for German food and beer.

Had some great meals in la dolce Vita on 172.. surprised at just how nice the steak was... But the other items was good too from brekki to dinner
My best Sunday lunch was in 'the pub' at the other end of 172
Randomly good Khmer food, but couldn't say where from tbh... It's all been fine
I had a really, really really shit indian I think it's btml or some thing like that...

That's interesting their lunch menu changes daily. I like Pepe bistro but I find their dinner menu is always 80% the same
I prefer the vine burgers over most in town
Smash burger down langka lane good too

The Vine is very much open, on the 244 street near Wat Botum.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Re: New places to eat... anything?
Exactly. ^^^^
Hence the need for a bit of an update on the PP restaurant scene.
Hanno's been doing a good job with restaurant reviews and suggestions. While I'm not a Phnom Penhite, so can't contribute much, you can find me lurking in the dark alleyways of the CEO Phnom Penh restaurant threads, taking note of the eating suggestions given by the posters here, ready for the next visit to PP.
So thanks to all foodie contributors.

I'm sitting now at Blue Emerald on the corner of Streets 154 and 15 near Psar Kandal, the new venture by the (now ex) owners of Blue Dolphin on Street 172. Very good selection of Western and Khmer foods at reasonable prices.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Some of these are new to me and others are old favorites. Either way, it's great to be reminded of all the wonderful food Phnom Penh has to offer!
