No, not exactly.

People become junkies for all kinds of reasons. Many have mental health problems, others became addicts after they were prescribed opiates for an injury. I can sympathize with these people.

My point is that people in my community are growing tired of this idea the government seems to be pushing, that if we can’t fix them, we just have to accept it and enable them instead.
It’s not the fact that someone is a drug addict that bothers me. It’s that we’ve been bombarded by hordes of aggressive, violent, thieving drug addicts, who seem to think it’s their right to make a shitty, pissy, mess out of the town, despite all of the resources that are directed towards trying to help them.
