Cambodia News, Takeo province: Keo Provincial Hall has confirmed a case of violence committed by 32-year-old Bhikkhu Nuon Chany, who used violence on a student monk by hitting him on the head, breaking a plate and causing injuries to the head, at 11 noon on January 25, 2023. at Wat Trop Kor, Trapeang Sap Commune, Bati District, Takeo Province.

Bhikkhu Nuon Chany, a monk teacher at Wat Trop Kor,was sent to Bati District Police to follow legal procedures after using excessive violence against a young monk who suffered bloody wounds.The Bati Sub-District Hall has already defrocked the older monk and handed him over to the local authorities for further legal proceedings.

Colonel Chhay Keo Mony, Inspector of Bati District Police Inspectorate, told Kampuchea Thmey this morning, January 26, that the perpetrator had been referred to the Bati District Inspector and that specialized forces were questioning him in view of taking legal action.

Takeo: The perpetrator of the attack has been charged and is currently being held at Bati District Police Inspectorate.

The novice monk received cuts to the head in three places where the angry monk, Nuon Chhay Ny, hit him with china plates : one cut on the left side of the head, 4 cm long, another injury to the scalp of 5 cm long, and a 1cm cut to the left eyebrow. The doctor sewed up a total of 7 stitches to wounds on the child's head.
