another shooting at a festival in the states ;-(

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Some people see racism everywhere, it's a kind of groupthink, screaming racist is often a virtue signal "look at me shouting down racists"
Ironically I will probably get called a racist for saying this

That’s not the way I look at things. This is an issue where race is irrelevant. But there are a few individuals on here that always make it the issue, and it’s sad.

The problem with that “icky data” is that you can go to five (5) different websites and get five (5) different statistical results. It’s your racism and bigotry that is statistically undeniable.
Yes, from wikipedia: on how different places difine mass shootings.
Definitions
Stanford University MSA Data Project: three or more persons shot in one incident, excluding the perpetrator(s), at one location, at roughly the same time. Excluded are shootings associated with organized crime, gangs or drug wars.[13]
Mass Shooting Tracker: four or more persons shot in one incident, at one location, at roughly the same time.[14][10]
Gun Violence Archive/Vox: four or more shot in one incident, excluding the perpetrators, at one location, at roughly the same time.[15][16]
Mother Jones: three or more shot and killed in one incident at a public place, excluding the perpetrators. This list excludes all shootings the organization considers to be "conventionally motivated" such as all gang violence and armed robberies.[8]
The Washington Post: four or more shot and killed in one incident at a public place, excluding the perpetrators.[7]
ABC News/FBI:[n 1] four or more shot and killed in one incident, excluding the perpetrators, at one location, at roughly the same time.[17]
Congressional Research Service: four or more shot and killed in one incident, excluding the perpetrators, at a public place, excluding gang-related killings and those done with a profit-motive.[18]
For these purposes (unprovoked attack/unclear motive/random school shootings etc) I think Mother Jones has the most useful data.

In that dataset the % of black is considerably lower. Mainly because drug/gang-related shootings are taken out.

These shootings are still shootings but when talking about the kind of shootings that get reported here it is nearly always the unprovoked, seemingly random person shooting up a school or neighbourhood for no reason

Interesting data sets. Appreciate it.
NYT has a different definition of mass shooting, thus the data skew differently.

Anyone even remotely familiar with the US understands that EVERYTHING is viewed through the lens of ‘race’. To think otherwise is naive in the least, and dare I say dishonest.
Whenever a mass shooter or a cop shooting a criminal is white he is unfailingly called a racist by certain posters .... but when those same shooters are non whites,, anyone who has the temerity to point that out is the racist, while loudly proclaiming any reason for the shooting is other than racism ...... Hypocrisy is a badge of honour for the most persistent virtue signalers among us.

Americans are Americans ... obviously these newspapers & the DOJ are racist

Nope, just in the New York Times. It wasn't picked up by other outlets because the body count was so pathetic.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

gang related, these killings happen all to often,
An 18-year-old gang member has been charged with murdering two teenagers who the authorities said were in a rival gang
very different from a mass shooting of innocent bystanders
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
