Nipples

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Nipples

Post by 2sevensclash »

It is forbidden to show a woman's nipples on British TV or on adverts in the newspaper but for men no problem. What if a man identifies as a women, can he show his nipples ? How about a big breasted women who now identifies as a man, can she show them ? :beer1:

Coincidentally I was watching this UK show from 1982 this evening and I had to admire the rotating boobs.

Facebook just changed their rules, so men who identify as women can show nipples. Also women who identify as men can flash their zipper tits. At least that's what I think it means.

Ah, that was the reason why TV5 Monde (French international channel) was banned from Indonesian cable tv, but then, Indonesia is mostly muslim (and bit amnesic)Image
Is UK yet muslim already, up to the TV management crew ?
What about Benny Hill's legacy which i grown up with ?

As a a gay man, I'm a bit conflicted with this subject. If I was totally, 100% honest, there are only men and women. Some men are gay and some women are lesbian. But they are still men and women.

I personally don't understand why a biological man, gay or not, would want to identify as a woman, but I guess it's not that much different to to a straight man trying to understand why a man would choose to be gay. I can assure you that being gay is certainly not a choice. It is as part of a persons characteristic as liking football, being communist or having a fascination for astronomy. We don't choose what we like or what we don't. It's just part of us and we don't know where it comes from.

Personally, I think that there was a long time that gays fought, quite rightly, to be as accepted as anyone else, both socially and legally. And now that we've largely won that, the focus has been narrowed down to those that most of us, in our everyday life, don't even give a thought about. There has always enough gays for gay issues to be talked about and dealt with. But no-one knows a trans if we're honest. Ok, they do exist, but they are such a marginal aspect of society, I think people are annoyed that they are being told to give a shit about something they just don't give a shit about. And the more they're told 'it's an issue', the more they want to scream 'no it isn't, I have more important things to be bothered by'.

I feel like I'm betraying my own kind, even though I'm not a trans, by saying this, but I just don't think there are enough trans people in this world for anyone to care about the issue. And the more we're told to care, the more we rebel.

It's no-where near on a par with gay rights. Yet I feel that because the gay rights war has largely been won, trans rights is the new bullet in the gun of the social justice warriors.

I wonder how many actual trans people are advocating for their rights, compared to those advocating for them on their behalf.

It’s not just that it’s an issue that we have to care about, but also an issue that some people seem to have to taken it upon themselves to clearly define How we should care about it, And by how much, to the point of it being nearly oppressive.

I do know one person who has ‘transitioned’ or whatever the term is. He, now she, was always a bit of a passive aggressive, got a thorn in his foot type of person. Niggly, cranky, nit-picking (almost sounds like the bloke in my mirror!). And then! The revelation. It’s not coming out. It’s more than coming out. The support offered was as you might expect for anyone experiencing major life changing events. However, to me, it was rather a kick in the teeth that those same people were far less supportive of other life and health related issues that I and other colleagues experienced.
This is the new thing to be really committed to, when all along, many of these outright supportive folks might just as easily throw the rest of us under the bus.
Oddly, one thing I’ve noticed is that most people going through any life changing event like this generally want to do it less obtrusively. To not make a big fuss. The big fuss for the most part is made by everyone else. The HR types. The colleagues that previously would have shared a beer and cracked questionable jokes about these issues. Over compensating.

That said, an old friend and colleague from decades ago (in another century) dealt with the angst of being gay, and repressing it, for a whole host of personal reasons, and when he finally just admitted it, he went a bit wild and over the top, in your face. For all intents and purposes, he was the same person that the rest of us had known for years, and in most cases knew that that day was coming when he would come out. But all of a sudden, it was simply excessive and largely alienated the very people who were supportive.

Although there is definitely some kind of interest towards trans people, if you check the numbers on this specific population through the porn sites ^^
Let's ask those westerners returning from Pattaya, some might have seen/tried a few trans encounters through their holidays, for example...
