End of an Era - Burger King now open on Riverside
Now that the king and the colonel are here, how long before small places like Kandal House are forced out by rising rent?
I first came to PP in 2008, it has been and is, changing very quickly.

Honestly, I can't think of single business on the Riverside of sufficient quality for it to be missed at all. The gentrification of PP is a good thing. Now, can we please have a fucking Burger King in Siem Reap?frank lee bent wrote:Now that the king and the colonel are here, how long before small places like Kandal House are forced out by rising rent?

LOL- thats not gentrification.
you need wolfgang puck or some of those other creatures for that.
Dont worry- i will be going there for a double bacon cheese within a week.
I am not decrying it- merely musing on the changing face of the strip.
I note fish and co as well as neighbouring restos are prominently featuring 50 cent draft.
That must mean it is cut throat time.

Where is the BK we were suppose to get in Snookyville? We will have a Kentucky Fried Rat (chicken) this month. Please! Someone open a Popeye's in Cambodia (Snooky.) There are 11 Popeye's in Singapore and one in the Airasia KL terminal.

I have to agree that there's very little in terms of quality on the riverside. Granted, I don't really explore what they offer much, but the choice is pretty dismal. I think it's in part because they mainly cater to transient tourists... I suppose the emergence of websites which allow users to rate establishments might have made an impact, but generally the quality isn't that great.
